Department of Physics has been established as a core department of GNIES, D.G.Khan under the umbrella of Faculty of Basic Sciences. It provides an excellent platform for students to explore physics in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary framework. The department is working to achieve first national and then international recognition for both academic and research expertise. The department offers a range of academic programs, including an Associate Degree in Physics (2-years), Bachelor of Science in Physics (4-years) , and Post Associate Degree in Physics (2-years). These programs are approved by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The curriculum offered for these program is based on the conceptual understanding and explanation of the fundamental natural laws/principles of Physics and its branches according to HEC Undergraduate Education Policy-2023.
To support its academic programs, the department boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including well-furnished classrooms and a Central Library with an extensive collection of physics-related books. The library is also linked to the HEC Digital Library, providing students with access to a vast array of online resources. In addition, the department has well-equipped Physics Labs, designed to facilitate hands-on learning and experimentation.
